For over 25 years, the RCMP Volunteer Program has helped to minimize the amount of crime occurring throughout our city by working work with the City of Vernon and North Okanagan Detachment of the RCMP.
Community Safety RCMP Volunteers
The Community Safety RCMP Volunteer Program supports crime prevention and public safety initiatives in Vernon. Volunteers work alongside the RCMP and the City of Vernon’s Community Safety Unit to help promote a safer community through education, outreach, and proactive monitoring programs.
Community Safety Volunteers act as extra eyes and ears in the community while helping deliver programs that increase awareness and reduce opportunities for crime.

Community Outreach and Education
- Sharing safety information and resources with the public
- Supporting community events and outreach initiatives
- Promoting awareness around topics such as internet safety, drug awareness, and bullying prevention
Administrative Support
- Assisting with program coordination and materials
