At the Regular Council Meeting on Monday, May 25, 2026, Council will consider first, second and third readings to Bylaw 6079, “6400 Okanagan Avenue Zoning Amendment Bylaw 6079, 2026”. This bylaw proposes to rezone a portion of the property located at 6400 Okanagan Ave from ‘MUA – Multi-Unit Acreage: Small Scale’ to ‘MUS – Multi-Unit: Small Scale’ to accommodate future residential development.
As per Section 464(3) of the Local Government Act, a public hearing will not be held because:
• An Official Community Plan (OCP) is in effect for this area.
• The bylaw is consistent with the OCP.
• The bylaw’s sole purpose is to allow residential development (whole or in part).
• The residential portion will make up at least 50% of the total floor area.
